Grimsby Ice Rink is the perfect venue for all of your ice sports, competitions, parties and cool activities. On top of having a well-kept, indoor ice rink (the only one in Lincolnshire!) we have a wide range of equipment, and specially trained coaches! Plus, we’re at Grimsby Leisure Centre which is a multi-use facility very close to Grimsby Town Centre and near Cleethorpes.
History
Since opening in 1974, the rink has seen many teams pass through its doors and many matches played.
It has developed tremendously over the years, and now we hope to continue to make it great with your help!
The Community
We are a group of Ice Sport loving volunteers, passionate about Grimsby Ice Rink. Some of us are parents of children that participate, some of us are skaters ourselves and some of us are coaches. With a number of our coaches playing sport on the Ice with over 40 years, we know that losing the rink simply isn’t an option!
Faced with the Council’s decision to close Grimsby Ice Rink in December 2016, we put together a proposal to take over the running of the facility. Fortunately, our determination led to North East Lincolnshire Council undertaking a Community Asset Transfer after positive reactions to our proposal.
We know that there’s still a lot of work to do and we’re currently trying to raise some capital, however we also know that we can make Grimsby Ice Rink a highly successful venture!
Our plan
By holding various events and asking for generous donations, we hope to be able to fund some overdue repairs and amazing renovations to really take the ice rink to the next level! Some of the things you’ll be helping to fund are:

Polar bear/Penguin skate aids- Café
- Firewall replacement
- A fresh coat of paint
