After School Activities

Booking is necessary for all of our sessions, including our after school activities.

All of the following classes have a certain level requirement.

Ice Theatre (Minimum Level 8):

This small but fun group concentrates more on some show skating techniques, including but not limited to pairs, synchro and ice dance. The group have access to ribbons, scarves and other props and have produced some lovely group numbers for our previous shows.

Coached by Vicky Mayne

Grimsby Ice Skating Club (Minimum Level 5):

We run one session on and off ice a week giving you the opportunity to make new friends, take part in group (extra fee applicable) and/or 1-2-1 lessons. Alternatively, just come along to get some extra practice to develop your new skills. We also run development sessions and summer camps for all levels of figure skating throughout the year. Don’t forget to book on to the Off Ice session if you want to take part as numbers are limited.

We offer two membership options for this class, £100 per year, or just £10 a month. Come along to a trial for just £5

Synchronised Skating Development Squad (Minimum Level Bronze):

Want to try Synchronised Skating? Our synchro development session teaches you all the basics skills to go on and join a team, and no synchro experience is required! Synchronised skating is a fast-paced, highly competitive team sport in which 8-16 skaters build formations on the rink.

Synchronised skating teams frequently skate as a unit in holds (but not always), creating circles, lines, blocks, wheels, and other parts to make up a complete performance. Routines are choreographed to a theme, and the team’s skaters will be required to flow in harmony and with precise footwork while keeping time with the music. Synchronized skating is one of the fastest growing parts of ice skating, and it’s a fantastic sport to participate in.

Support us

Grimsby Ice Rink as a registered charity is proud to be responsible for the day to day running and upkeep of the ice rink, after it was transferred from the council on 1st September 2017.

However, we need your help to continue to do this and to ensure that Grimsby doesn’t lose a much-loved attraction!

We need to raise as much money as possible to enable us to improve the current facility.

There are lots of ways that you can support us, by offering support of labour or materials by contacting directors@grimsbyicerink.com
